• 1 cup all-purpose our
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1⁄2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1⁄2 cup unsalted butter, softened


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

With an electric mixer, knead the our and butter for 5 minutes. Add the sugars and vanilla extract; continue to knead for 5 minutes until dough

forms. Remove the mixing bowl from the mixer, add in the nuts and mix with a wooden spoon. Place the dough in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour.

Remove from the refrigerator and form into balls the size of walnuts and place on an ungreased cookie sheet 1 inch apart. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove balls from the oven and cool on a wire rack. Place the confectioners’ sugar in a large plastic bag, place 3-4 balls in the bag and shake until covered completely with sugar. Transfer snowballs to a plate or air-tight container until ready to serve.
